Memorial to Casualties of War

Since September 2001, many have died in Iraq and Afghanistan, during the wars there, including uncounted numbers of civilians and thousands of soldiers. In addition, around the globe, a score of other wars continue to claim the lives of many thousands more. Here, we pause to reflect on those losses, and to remember every human life lost in the course of war, both soldiers and civilians caught in the midst of battle.

  • If you know someone listed on this Memorial, you are invited to add your own Remembrance -- a personal story or reflection.
  • If you know anyone who was a casualty of war and is not listed here, please create a new Memorial here, and tell us who that person was and how they lived and died.
